Image
Which is The Maximum Mileage Giving Motorcycle in India? If you are looking for the maximum mileage giving motorcycle, then you are at right place. Bajaj Platina 100cc is the most economical and maximum mileage giving motorcycle in India. May be it is the only motorcycle in the world which has highest mileage. If you are going to buy this one then definitely you are doing the right choice.  Engine type: It is a 4-stroke, natural air cooled type engine. It can produces a maximum power of 6.03 Kw 8.2 bhp @ 7500 rpm and maximum torque of 8.05 Nm @ 4500 rpm.   Ignition type: Digital CDI & TRICS III   Transmission type: It has constant mesh type transmission.   Fuel tank: It has a fuel tank capacity of 8 L and comes in reserve when 2.3 L left in the tank.   Mileage: It gives a mileage of 82 Km/L in city ride and 102 Km/L on highway.   Price: Rs 45,003 (Ex-showroom price in Rajasthan) This price may differ in different sta

Types of Ignition system

Th ere are four different methods used    by which Fuel may be ignited ( ignition system ) in  Internal Combustion Engines . If the Ignition in Internal Combustion Engines takes place at the end of Compression Stroke then the engine runs without knocks, with good efficiency. The Compression Ignition Engines are so design that the temperature at the end of the Compression is above the self-Ignition Temperature of Fuel. In this case (ignition system), no spark plug as like in  Spark Ignition  required for Ignition. Different Ignition Methods (ignition system). 01) Hot Tube Ignition Method This is the old method which was used in old days, now this method has become obsolete. But to gain some knowledge, here I disclose some description. This method used in Gas and Light Oil Engines, a porcelain or metal tube closed one end is heated red hot from an external source, to Temperature well above the Ignition Temperature of theFuel so that when the latter is injected into the tu

Metals used to manufacture IC engines

Image
Internal Combustion Engine Parts And Metals From Which it is manufactured A metal decide the performance and limit of a machine. We are often interested in finding which metal is used in manufacturing of an IC engine and why. In manufacturing of an engine we have to use those metals which can handle the pressure and temperature of the engine and should be cheap in price. Today I am going to tell you about the metals which is used in IC engine and there method of manufacturing. Cylinder block: Cylinder is made by high grade cast iron because it is in direct contact of combustion gases. Cast iron has high compressive strength to handle the pressure and temperature. It is made by casting and usually cast in one piece. Cylinder head: The main function of cylinder head is to seal the cylinder and it should be light in weight. So cylinder head is usually made by cast iron or aluminum. It is made by casting or forging and usually in one piece. Piston:

Types of Chassis and Different Types of Cars According to Body Style

Image
In this article we will take a look on types of chassis and different types of cars in automobile. Have you ever notice that: 1. Why in the collision of a vehicle, like a small car which crushed fully but a truck or big car not crushed fully? 2. Why truck or big cars vibrate greater than a small car? 3. What type of car you have? Types of Chassis You have heard the word "Chassis" many time in automobile but till now you have confusion about it. But Today I am going to tell you about it. Chassis is the base of a vehicle. It consist engine, transmission system, brake system, suspension system, steering system, cooling system, wheels etc.  There are two types of chassis: 1. Conventional chassis or frame-full chassis In this type of chassis the body is made as a separate unit and then joined with ladder frame. It supports all the systems in a vehicle such as the Engine, Transmission system, Steering system, Suspension system.  Advantage Highe

Types of clutches

Before starting to study about  different types of clutch , we must know about the meaning of  clutch . Clutch is defined as the device which is used in automobiles to transmit power from one rotating shaft to another shaft. In cars it transmits power from the flywheel connected to the engine shaft to the clutch shaft, and from clutch shaft it is transmitted to the rear wheels through gear shaft, propeller shaft and differential. Mainly clutches are divided into 2 parts: Friction clutches and Fluid flywheel Friction clutches: These clutches works on the principle of friction exist in between two rotating shaft when they come in contact with each other. Fluid flywheel: Fluid flywheel clutches works on transfer of energy from one rotor to the other by means of some fluid. Types of friction clutches: Cone clutch Single plate clutch Multi-plate cutch Semi-centrifugal clutch Centrifugal clutch

Manual Vs Automatic Transmission

Image
It's been a long time since I have posted an article,I was busy with my university exams. In this article we will learn about Manual Vs  Automatic transmission. Now a days the cars that comes in the market equipped with either manual transmission or automatic transmission. The basic difference between manual and automatic transmission is that in manual transmission the shifting of gears is done by the driver and in automatic transmission the shifting of gears takes place automatically. The cars that has automatic transmission can also be operated manually. Let's discuss about them in detail. Manual transmission (MT):  The Transmission in which the shifting of gears is done by the driver is called the manual transmission. The cost of the cars with manual transmission is less. Its maintenance cost is less. It does not require active cooling. The fuel efficiency of the manual transmission is more. It also depends the driving skills of the driver
