Petrol engine Working

Image
In this topic I would be discussing the working of petrol engines Before starting the topic, let's think about the following questions: Q.1 Why your bike does not start when  spark plug   is not working? Q.2 How does the burning of gasoline drive your vehicle? Q.3 Why two stroke vehicle's average is less than that of four stroke? Q.4 How does fuel enter inside the cylinder without a pump? Four stroke spark ignition  engine  is also known as the petrol engine and is widely used in bikes and cars as the power unit. It converts the chemical energy of fuel into mechanical energy by the piston. By knowing the working of this engine we can able to find out why our vehicle is not working properly. The power generation process in a  SI engine  is divided into four parts, each part known as the piston stroke.  In an engine, stroke is refer to the maximum distance travel by the piston in a single direction. The piston is free to move only in upward and downward direction. I

Basic components of the engines.

Engine   is a device that produces power. It is made by various parts bolted together and they work together to achieve power by burning of fuel. These parts are given below: 1. Cylinder Block: Cylinder block or Cylinder are main part of an engine. It is a part in which combustion of fuel takes place. All other parts like piston, connecting rod, crankshaft, water jacket etc. are bolted on it. 2. Piston: Piston is placed in the cylinder and transmits thrust to the connecting rod. It is free to move. It compresses the air fuel mixture and convert the fuel energy into mechanical energy. It transmits the power to the crankshaft. 3. Cylinder Head: Cylinder head is fitted on the top of cylinder block and the function of the cylinder head is to seal the working end of cylinder and not to permit entry and exit of gases on cover head valves of the engine. The valves, spark plug, camshaft etc are fitted on it. 4. Connecting Rod: It connect piston to t

Difference between Petrol and Diesel Engine

In this post I will discuss the difference about petrol and diesel four stoke engine. In this article we will discuss about  difference between petrol and diesel engine . The classification of petrol and diesel engine is done on the basis of the respective fuel used by these engines. The engine which uses petrol is called petrol engine while that uses diesel is called diesel engine. Here will discuss all the major differences among these engines. Difference between Petrol and Diesel Engine There is a lot of  difference between petrol and diesel engine  and these are as follows: The petrol engine works on Otto cycle whereas diesel engine works on diesel cycle. In petrol engine the air and petrol are mixed in carburetor and it enters into the cylinder. In diesel engine the fuel is first fed into the cylinder by a fuel injector and then gets mixed with air inside the cylinder. In petrol engine first the compression of air and petrol is don
